About Polyurethane

What is polyurethane?

Polyurethane is a leading member of the highly diverse plastics family. Basically, polyurethane foam is made by reacting polyols and diisocyanates, both are products derived from crude oil. A series of additives are also necessary to produce high quality PU foam products.
Polyurethane foam can be flexible or rigid. Each form of polyurethane has many uses. The members of Euro-Moulders produce flexible moulded polyurethane foam parts for the automotive sector.  Seats are the most prominent final product in which polyurethane foams are used.

The chart shows how moulded polyurethane parts, produced for the automotive sector, fit within the wider polyurethane family.
